Since 1996, EDE has shared an Executive Director, administrative leadership, development, marketing, and financial services with Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings and the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival.
Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings Founded in 1982, Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings (DCWS) specializes in the performance of works utilizing between 6 and 20 players. The ensemble is comprised of musicians from the Detroit Symphony and Michigan Opera Theatre orchestras.
|Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival Founded in 1993 with pianist James Tocco at its artistic helm, the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival (GLCMF) brings in world-renowned artists, presenting more than 20 concerts during a two-week period each June. The GLCMF is a secular event presented by DCWS together with three religious institutions representing Catholic, Jewish, and Protestant faiths. On the 2003 Festival, DCWS and EDE collaborated to perform Stravinsky’s A Soldier’s Tale, with choreography by Bill DeYoung.|
|Oakland University Founded in 1959, Oakland University (OU) includes the promotion of arts as part of its mission. The Meadow Brook Music Festival, the Meadow Brook Theatre and the Meadow Brook Art Gallery all call OU’s campus home and each exemplify the university’s investment in the arts. As a Professor of Dance, Laurie Eisenhower is on faculty at Oakland University’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance (MTD) and has partnered with the university since the inception of EDE in 1991. EDE rehearses at OU throughout the season and also performs annually on the MTD Professional Artist Series at Varner Recital Hall. Dance students at OU especially benefit from the relationship. EDE’s company class has doubled as a university course for advanced dance students and OU’s Repertory Dance Company, a pre-professional student dance company, is often given the opportunity to perform as guest dancers with EDE. In addition, selected students are invited to apprentice with EDE.|
|Macomb Center for the Performing Arts
For nearly 10 years, the Eisenhower Dance Ensemble has partnered with the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in a variety of capacities. The company has offered its season finale subscription series concert at the venue, provided EDE dancers for Macomb Center outreach and education programs, and co-produced performances including Stravinsky’s Firebird with the Warren Symphony Orchestra, Carmina Burana with the Rackham Symphony Choir, Motown in Motion with The Contours, and Dances from the Heart of Rock ‘n Roll.
