EDE Company Auditions

Eisenhower Dance Ensemble conducts annual auditions in April, May and/or June. To obtain a position in the company, it is advisable to attend one of these auditions. The 2012 Auditions are listed below:

2012 Season begins August 12, 2012

Eisenhower Dance Ensemble is a contemporary repertory dance company based in the Detroit Metropolitan area. EDE boasts a diverse repertory by nationally-known choreographers. Repertory has included works by David Parsons, Lar Lubovitch, Michael Foley, Helen Simoneau, Steven Koester, Harrison McEldowney, Colin Connor, Pascal Rioult, Eddy O’Campo, David Dorfman, Billy Siegenfeld and artistic director Laurie Eisenhower, among others.

Auditionees should arrive ready to learn movement phrases from EDE’s current repertory. Warm-up will not be provided. Finalists will be interviewed following the audition. Please register online by clicking on the audition form below.  Audition fees are not required.

Mature dancers should have a strong background in ballet and modern technique, along with performance experience. Ability to relocate to the Detroit area and transportation is required for Company members. Dancers are contracted from Mid-August through June. The contract length is variable but is generally between 35-45 weeks with national touring. Apprentice positions and Summer Intensive acceptance will also be considered during the audition.

A dancer must be a U.S. citizen or have a valid work visa that allows him/her to work for at least two years to be considered.  An experienced professional who is unable to attend may submit an audition request with resume and DVD or an online performance link. If viewed positively, the dancer will be invited for a private audition.
